Phew!
It's getting hot
Another Heatwave in England
It’s Monday, 22nd June, and yesterday was the longest day (daylight hours). The temperature is rising and will get even higher over the next few days, possibly reaching 40°C, which is going to be a record temperature for this time of year, and extremely hot at any time for England.
I know we love to moan about the weather, too hot, too cold, too windy, too whatever, but this really is going to be an uncomfortable few days. Will there be more to come, as July and August are usually the peak heat months?
I am looking forward to writing more for Roland’s Travels. Recent articles have been from my Notebook series, as time has been limited due to a number of family responsibilities. There is an interesting Wiltshire-connected character worthy of a story, and I am planning to make a visit to find out more about him. Look out for this story in July.
Some of you might know that over the past two years I have been moving away from the digital world, especially social media. Quite a while ago, I closed my Facebook and Instagram accounts. You will no longer find me on X.
Here, on Substack, is where you will find me most, with a few new videos on YouTube from time to time. If you’re not using the Substack app, please consider adding it to your phone or tablet. You can choose to read my stories there and select whether you want stories sent by email, to the app, or both in the settings. I read most of the stories I subscribe to on the app. They can also be listened to in audio format, ideal if you’re out exercising or working and would like to keep up with your subscriptions.
I look forward to writing more for you soon. If it’s hot, stay hydrated and don’t get sunburnt.
Thank you for being a reader, you are appreciated.
