Thanks to your post, I have been able to trace myself back as a 5 times great grandaughter of Isaac Gulliver! I had no idea until I noticed a lot of my family had roots in Semington (a place that I had never heard of!) so I googled it and it led me here. I live on the Hampshire/Dorset border about 20 minutes from where Isaac is buried. Absolutely amazing, thank you so much!

Hi Lauren

Thank you for letting me know your story. It's always good to hear from someone who has a connection to the stories I write. I am delighted that this story stimulated you to find your connection to Isaac Gulliver and the village. I often wonder about the relatives of characters that I come across and occasionally, as in this instance, I get a message from one.

I haven't heard any stories of Isaac burying any treasure, but if you find any, let me know :-)

Thanks Roland for the nicely flowing historical highlights of Semington. It appears to have a rich history despite its relatively small size. I'll watch the youtube of your walk through as well. Happy Thanksgiving from this side of the pond.

Hi Michael

Thank you for your comment. Semington certainly does have a rich history and I am pleased you enjoyed it. Look out for more village histories in future posts.

"Thanks for the Memories" Roland - my love affair with Wiltshire began in Semington, then my parents moved to Devizes in 1988, but I haven't seen Semington for a long time now - must re-acquaint soon! 😊

It’s my pleasure Howard. There are many lovely villages in Wiltshire, each with some interesting stories to tell. I hope to write about many more.
