There are over 3000 lost villages in the UK
I've walked to one of the villages on the Isle of Skye. It was destroyed deliberately to clear the people for the landowners' sheep, in the Highland Clearances. Little trace remains. Tragic.
Those Highland Clearances were a terrible act. The disdain those wealthy landowners had for fellow human beings was despicable.
No argument from me, Roland. Utterly inhumane.
